Apollo is such a happy and silly baby! He loves to laugh and enjoys being tickled and lifted up high in the sky. If his personality now is any indication of what he’ll be like as a toddler, then we’re in trouble. He loves to hang upside down, get thrown up into the air and kick his legs really hard!
Apollo can sit up by himself for a really long time before falling over. It literally happened over night! He’s been sitting on my lap for a while without my support, and within the last week he’s been able to keep his balance and not fall over if I put him down on the floor. He’s really pleased with himself! He also figured out how to roll back and forth between his back and tummy really easily and will roll around all over the place! He’s becoming more and more mobile every day.
He weighs about 18 pounds now. There was a two-week period when he was really picky about eating solids. He refused to let me feed him, but he would let his nanny and Fred. I decided to stop trying for a little bit and now he lets me feed him again without any problems. He still loves sweet potatoes and pears, peas and broccoli mixed together. I would love to start making my own baby food soon!
He’s been teething for 4 months and still no sign of teeth! I can’t believe it, but he has been dealing with it pretty well and it doesn’t consistently bother him.
His sleeping patterns are pretty irregular. It seems like every week is different with how well or not well he sleeps at night. One week he’ll be really easy to put to bed and he’ll sleep pretty well at night, and then the next week it will be a lot harder to get him to calm down and he’ll wake up multiple times at night to nurse. He still takes a few short naps throughout the day and has a pretty regular nap time schedule that he set for himself. I’m not big on sleep training or training at all with babies. I let them lead the way and I happily follow along with it!
I’m excited to see if in the next month he’s crawling or finally has some teeth!
