Fred really went all out for Mother’s day this year, and I am so grateful and feel incredibly loved by my family. There are a lot of things about getting older that truly terrify me, but I try to push those thoughts into a box in my head, lock it up, and focus on the amazing memories I’m making instead. I’m excited to share new places and experiences with Apollo and Luna and I know that watching them grow up is going to be very difficult for me, but it’s also beautiful to see what kind of people they’re turning into.
He also bought me something so special and beautiful, there really are no words to describe it. He somehow found a hand-made ring from recycled silver that the artisan named “2 suns orbit the moon”. Luna was a triplet, and I’ve always wanted to find a way to remember her twin and triplet and also focus on how special Luna is for being the surviving baby. The ring has a moonstone in the center, which represents Luna, and the 2 suns are made from citrine, which happens to be my birthstone. The two stones are her twin and triplet. The sentiment behind the ring is so beautiful and I am absolutely in love with it. It feels like I am carrying the two babies around with me everywhere I go and they’re my little guardian angels. I believe that they’re Luna’s guardian angels, too.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he made me some of my favorite food for dinner! He made vegan mac n’ cheese, a vegan veggie loaf and steamed asparagus. He also gave me some really delicious raw, vegan drinks that are locally made in D.C. Check them out here.
To top off the day, we saw Prince in Baltimore for a “Rally 4 Peace” benefit show. It was by far the best show we’ve ever been to and everyone was dancing and having a great time! I tried to upload a video to YouTube, but they took it down because of copyright laws!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother’s Day and were able to celebrate with their loved ones.
