The tried out a lot of new beauty products in the month of May. Target started carrying a lot more vegan, cruelty-free and “natural” products, especially by Pacifica for their made to matter campaign. The products that I purchased by Pacifica are made with coconut oil, which is one of my favorite ingredients to use for skin and beauty products. The eyeshadow trio on the left is called “espresso gold” by Mineral Fusion. It’s a really easy to use neutral set that has a matte beige color, a shimmery gold and a matte grey/chocolate brown color. The colors are really pigmented and easy to blend. There are so many ways to use every color, but I usually just use the shimmery gold on my lid and then use the grey color to line my upper lash line with a pencil brush. It’s a quick 5 minute look that doesn’t look over done, but helps brighten up my eyes a little bit. The trio on the right is by Pacifica with the colors ethereal, lovely and dreamy. These are really creamy and slightly shimmery. The taupe/brown color is the only one that seems to be matte. I use the lightest color on my lid and then a mixture of the reddish color and the brown in my crease. They’re both also really small and easy to bring with you in your purse.
The Pacifica Coconut Multiples is probably my favorite thing that I tried in May. They’re really creamy and I love using the bronzer. It’s light enough for my really fair skin and it doesn’t look orange or make my skin look dirty. It adds a really natural warmth to the skin and it’s really easy to blend. I apply a little bit with a stippling brush along my cheek bones and my hair-line if I need the extra color. I definitely wake up some mornings and look like a ghost when I haven’t had enough sleep or water the day before.
This is what it looks like when I wear a BB cream, a little blush and the bronzer, some mascara and a little bit of the taupe eyeshadow. It takes me about 5 minutes! If I have extra time then I’ll use the Zuzu Luxe eyeliner with a more defined look, or the mineral fusion brown eyeliner pencil for a more natural one. I’m terrible at using eyeliner and I have tried hundreds of times to do a cat eye and I just can’t do it, but I can easily line my upper lash line with the zuzu luxe liquid liner. It has a fine point and isn’t terribly liquidy so it won’t cause a mess on your eyelid or transfer after you use it.
For skin care I’ve been loving the Sibu sea buckthorn facial cream as my daily moisturizer. It’s light weight, but still gives my dry skin enough hydration and nourishment that it needs. It also looks really nice under make up. When I’m having a drab skin day or my skin just needs some extra lovin, I’ll use the evanhealy lemongrass facial polish. It isn’t too harsh on my skin, but it exfoliates and puts some life back into my skin. I’ll then use the evanhealy Hawaiian Sandalwood HydroSoul to either set my make up or before bed if my skin is extra dry that day. It feels amazing and the scent is really calming and helps me unwind before bed. Both companies are great because they use sustainable practices and they are vegan and cruelty-free.
These are the bulk of what I’ve been using and loving for the past month. What have been some of your favorite beauty and skin care products?
