The past few weeks have been weird and tiring. Apollo wasn’t himself for over a week because of his teeth, and Luna was the only one getting any sleep at night. He had a fever, a runny nose, and would literally only sleep if he was nursing all night. Now Luna has a runny nose and sore throat, and I’m starting to feel it, too. Fred and I have both been working a lot and we really needed to spend a day having fun with the kids. We woke up this morning on a mission to go to the zoo. I do not like seeing animals in captivity, but the National Zoo is working to preserve giant pandas! Since we went on a Monday morning, it was really easy to get around and we were in the front row to see three different pandas. One panda came outside and sat down on a hill to eat; it was amazing! We then got a huge lunch at Cava and I devoured a vegetarian falafel bowl – heaven!
The weather was perfect and being outside was exactly what I needed to refresh my mind after a long week. I now feel re-energized and motivated to take on all of the ideas I have for the blog and things in our life. Hooray to that! Apollo was calm for the majority of the trip and even sat in the stroller the whole time! He normally freaks out after about 20 minutes and wants me to carry him, but today he was completely content riding around and looking at everything. Luna also went on her first carousel ride with Fred and kept raving about the hummingbird that she was riding.
What helps you after a stressful week? I really like day trips with the family and also exercise! There’s nothing like cardio to get your serotonin pumping!
