After two years of not really sleeping and working non-stop, I think it’s finally catching up to me. I am one exhausted lady! I feel like I talk about this a lot, but I would seriously love to nap right now. I have been waking up at 4 am at least three times a week to go to work, in addition to still breastfeeding throughout the night and probably only getting two consecutive hours of sleep a night. Since I’m clearly not going to get a full night’s rest anytime soon, I can at least be mindful of what I’m eating and making sure that I get enough minerals to balance my body. I’ve been using the Eat Yourself Calm book as inspiration to make different meals that incorporate vitamins and minerals that will reduce my stress and help my mood. The easiest way for me to do this is a big smoothie bowl in the morning with added supplements.
I also love to make big bowls of gluten-free oatmeal and add different nut butters, seeds and fruit. I made this bowl recently using Purely Elizabeth gluten-free oats, Wild Friends maple sunflower butter, organic figs and banana, hemp seeds, and my home-made pumpkin coconut granola. These figs were beautiful and a delicious addition to the cooked oats.
My most recent bowl was a blueberry, banana and maca combo with fresh raspberries, almond butter and Qi’a cereal sprinkled on top!
