Join in the matcha green tea fun with this incredibly easy vegan smoothie – only 5 minutes and 3 ingredients!
This week is a busy one, and I have been turning to really easy and quick meals to get me through long work days and small windows of time to cook at home. I whipped up the easiest matcha green tea smoothie imaginable, and it is absolutely delicious! I used a sweet matcha powder, but you should definitely taste the smoothie and see if you need to add more sweetener if you have a different tasting matcha. If you use frozen bananas this would turn into the perfect “nice cream”, or banana ice cream, and you could also turn this into a smoothie bowl.
The hype around matcha green tea is that it contains:
- Antioxidants – which help prevent aging and chronic diseases
- L-Theanine – an amino acid that helps with stress and mental focus
- The polyphenol EGCG, which has been shown to boost metabolism
